It’s no secret that we are living in a toxic world. Pesticides are poured onto our fruits, grains and vegetables, pharmaceutical drugs and hormones are injected into beef, poultry and pork, and fish are swimming in polluted waters. The air we breathe has been tainted with gases and there are things in our water supply that will literally scare you.
You can ignore the problem and pay for it later or you can step up and focus on a solution. So how can you protect yourself from the adverse effects of our toxic world?
As many top tier physicians say, “The solution to pollution is dilution.”
This means that if you have a toxic substance you can minimize its impact by diluting it.
The #1 Daily Detox Strategy = Consume plenty of clean water.
The law of supply and demand shows that when there is an abundant quantity of something available then we want it less and often take it for granted. Water must not be taken for granted. Water is your main ingredient and is critical for nearly every reaction that occurs within the human body. If there is one strategy to improve health, energy and appearance beyond all others this is the one. Just a 1% decrease in hydration levels can decrease strength by 10% and being dehydrated can slow metabolism by up to 40%.
How to determine your daily water intake
Drink ½ your bodyweight (pounds) in ounces of water per day
For example, 200 lb. person would drink a minimum of 100 oz. of water per day.
To make it easy for you check the chart below to determine your water needs.
Bodyweight (lbs.) | Daily water intake (oz.) | Number of 16 oz. bottles daily* |
---|---|---|
100 | 55 | 4 |
110 | 60.5 | 4 |
120 | 66 | 4 |
130 | 71.5 | 5 |
140 | 77 | 5 |
150 | 82.5 | 5 |
160 | 88 | 6 |
170 | 93.5 | 6 |
180 | 99 | 6 |
190 | 104.5 | 7 |
200 | 110 | 7 |
210 | 115.5 | 7 |
220 | 121 | 8 |
230 | 126 | 8 |
240 | 132 | 8 |

Although I have listed the number of 16oz. plastic bottles here, I did so only to give you a mental picture as to the amount. However, I do NOT recommend drinking out of plastic bottles for two reasons.
- The plastic leaks chemicals into the water that can adversely affect your health and physical goals. Specifically it can create thyroid problems.
- In the U.S. alone, every year we throw away enough plastic bottles to go around the world 9½ times. You can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution. Since you are member of Physical Mastery you are a leader and need not preach to the choir. You rock.
Here’s the best way to get results, improve health, save some cash and positively impact the planet. Financial guru David Bach says that the average American household spends approximately $5,000 per year on bottled water. That’s insane. Especially considering most of the world live’s off of less than $2 a day. Rather than squander money and weaken your health, take these steps.
- Get a home water filter system. My friend, Dr. Glen Wilcox of Albuquerque, New Mexico says even a basic Brita or Pur water filter is effective to rid parasites and most other toxins from municipal water supplies. These are convenient and affordable options. A step up and the filter we use at BB3 Training Center is the Santevia system. (available at www.Santevia.com)
- In order to avoid the plastics in the water, drink from a steel water bottle. These are available at most stores. I buy enough bottles to fulfill my daily requirement and fill them up in the morning. This way I know if I’m track with my water intake or if I’m falling behind. You don’t need to do this all of the time, but if you can cut back on drinking from plastic bottles in half that is a great improvement. Don’t try to be perfect just focus on progress.
Never underestimate the power of water and being properly hydrated. It will improve your health, energy and your appearance. It is the world’s most important substance!
Drink up and Live Greatly!

I’m glad to hear that other people know of the tainted water and it’s effects on our systems. Everyone should have a water filtration unit in their home as to eliminate all of the impurities in our water to protect ourselves and improve health. The general public needs to know the consequences of consuming chlorine, fluoride, the pharmaceuticals (which we aren’t sure which ones, or how many as they are tested), other chemicals, toxins and heavy metals. And I think it’s great that you brought up the fact regarding the potential hazardous effects of plastic bottles as most people think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. We need to protect ourselves, and people need to know about these things.
