Last weekend, I filmed a video series for Physical Mastery Coaching Club Clients called the Secrets of the Slight Edge. The Slight Edge is the name of a book that I recently read by Jeff Olson. I highly recommend it. That along with another book called “Mastery” by George Leonard really solidified what I was teaching my clients. What both of these books teach and what every Master teaches is this principle. Ask any successful person in any field and you will see it at work.
What is Mastery? What is the Slight Edge?
It is the small, uncelebrated daily actions that don’t pay off today but over time make all the difference between success and failure. Drinking enough clean water, challenging your body with exercise, avoiding processed foods…you know most of these. They are not breakthroughs, they are not sexy but they are proven to be effective over time.
We know this…yet so many of us are looking for the “magic pill” or newest workout. We distract ourselves with trying everything new whether it is another informercial DVD workout, exercise device, a new “fat burning class” – none of these make a difference until you quit dabbling. You must commit to MASTERY. Master some basic daily disciplines that are proven to work.
Here’s a Daily Checklist for Achieving Physical Mastery
- Drink 1/2 body weight in oz. of water each day
- Eat Foods Closest to their natural source – avoid processed foods
- Eat Four to Six RESULTS Meals each day (watch video)
- Challenge your body with weights and cardio – stimulate don’t annihilate
- Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep
- Take a high-quality Multi-Vitamin and Omega-3 Supplement daily
Those are just a few. Commit to one or commit to them all. It’s up to you. These are all proven daily disciplines that lead to continuous improvement. This may best be explained with one of the most popular articles I’ve ever written. Click here to get it now.
Good stuff as always Billy.
Thanks for being who you are and always putting out great content.
Not everybody comments to these posts, and looks like I’m the first one today, but I just wanted to let you know I appreciate knowing you’re out there doing your thing!
Rock on man,
Sean
Thanks Sean! Always great to hear from you brother! I appreciate the kind words!
Billy
I appreciate the simplicity. Just one quick thought. I tried several of the links from your post but kept getting a blank page with “Safari can’t find the server for …” for each of them. Thought you’d want to know.
Bruce

Thanks BB3! I will check out those books. This is all about commitment and keeping on the right track mentally!
